Ahh the weekend!

I had my first swimming lesson with Kirsten on Saturday and I really really enjoyed it and not only that I did exceptionally well too! I must say Kirsten is a very brave woman trying to teach me how to swim but I had a lot of faith in her and I didn’t feel all nervous so it was very successful and she was an awesome teacher. I was able with the aid of a flutter board to swim a whole length by using the correct breathing so yeah for me! We are now going to go twice a week, and have even joked about having my birthday party this year at the pool!

Saturday night we had all of Al’s family over for dinner at our place to celebrate Trevor’s birthday. Al cooked an awesome roast lamb with all the other roast goodies!

Sunday we went to a show called 2 Hot 2 Handle, it’s a car and motorbike show with street racing going on outside too. We saw some pretty amazing cars including one that costs $8000 a km to run! Now compare that to my car which costs $.12 a km to run! We also saw this cool as Jet car race, first of all it was just shooting flames and a crazy amount of smoke out the back and then it was back firing creating a lot of noise and more flames and smoke and then whoosh with an almighty roar it took off at a crazy speed, it was so cool but so loud my ears hurt for ages afterwards! There was no really cool bikes there which is a shame but never the less it was still an ok show.

Fiji Baby etc

Work has been so busy hence why I haven’t blogged in ages plus I was away for a week in Fiji.
Anyhow I am back now and have loads to fill you all in on.

Fiji was just amazing, we had a fantastic time there and the weather was so hot it was great. I snorkelled for the first time and I am in love with snorkelling I couldn’t get out of the water after my first go and I snorkelled every day after that. Some places I snorkelled was over a coral reef by the beach and at one place I snorkelled it was just a sand dune in the middle of the water, but the fish and the coral around there was the most spectacular I have ever seen. My breath was taken away with these beautiful reefs just off the shore of an island but I wanted bigger and better things the trill of doing ot off shore was not enough (he he) so I snorkelled in the middle of the ocean 45mins from land and in this amazing and rather large reef. The difference in snorkelling by the beach and in the middle of the ocean is quite simply sharks, rougher water, drop off area and its bloody scary! But all that aside it was an amazing rush swimming and snorkelling in the middle of the ocean. I would never ever have done it though if it wasn’t for Al he made me feel and be safe the whole time. The whole thing has inspired me to become a good swimmer so I am starting lessons on Saturday!

My presentation went very well although I was very nervous but it didn’t show and I pulled it off to loads of positive comments so I am very proud of myself for doing it now!

I will blog some photos of Fiji once I sort myself out and bring them into work (its quicker to download them here)

The next few weeks are going to be as busy as the past few as not only do we have Easter around the corner we also have some friends coming over from London next week for two nights and then the week after Easter my sister and her husband will be here for a week and I cant wait it will be so good to see them all! However I will try and blog more often so you can read about more everyday stuff and not just one lump sum short blog!
